Clearwater to invest $270m

Clearwater Paper will spend $270m on a manufacturing project in the south-east US. A specific destination has not yet been named, but the firm said a decision would be made by Q3 2010. The new plant will serve the US east coast and employ 250 people. At full capacity, the site, which will take two years to construct, will produce about 10 million cases or 70,000 tonnes of bathroom tissue and household towels a year.
